Q. What is a satellite phone?
A. Just like your cell phone connects to a cell phone tower on ground, a satellite phone connects to a satellite in space.

A. No, they do not. Just like you get Vodacom, CellC and MTN, so you get Iridium, Thuraya, Inmarsat etc - which are the satellite equivalent of the cellular networks.

A. It stands for Very Small Aperture Terminal. It is basically an industry standard acronym for what is supposed to be an open-standard solution. There are quite a lot of different VSAT solutions on the market, but Globalcom Satellite only sells the best, being iDirect.
